Hello every-nyan!

How are you guys? This past week has been pretty creative for me and Buskerud Folk School~ I had my second workshop there now, and it is always a joy to see people eager to learn new stuff. This time we were gonna make props instead of bracers. Reason why I chose bracers for them for the first workshop is cause It’s easy to make, and they get to know the material quite well.  So they already had the knowledge in the back of their head when we were gonna make props. There were so many different swords/knives! They chose everything from The Legend of Zelda, World of Warcraft, Kingdom Hearts, Alice Madness Returns, Lord of the Rings, and more!
This was the first time they got to work with EVA foam, and they were actually quite surprised by how easy it was to work with. Although the sanding was a pain as we only had three dremels. :’D
I wish we had at least 4-5 days on this project, but we managed to do a ton of stuff in three days. We got to the part where they had to prime their props, which was splendid! So they only have to paint their props which most likely they will manage just fine~ Tried to teach them a little about painting before I left.

All in all it has been three marvelous days. It makes me SO happy that they chose so many different swords/knives. They are all very very talented!

So now the students know how to: Make patterns, work with worbla, EVA foam, make molds, cast gems, work with LED’s and how to sand edges on EVA/worbla. (The paint course will continue on our facebook group)
